I’ve been following this series called ‘Honest Tea Talk’, which was inspired by Jada Pinkett-Smith’s ‘Red Table Talk’, where these women (Sister Aliyah, Sister LayYinka & Sister Sumayah) discuss various societal issues & matters of the heart in an honest, intimate manner.
Their latest video touched on the topic of tests & tribulations, coinciding with my previous post that I’ve written a few hours ago. SubhanAllah, Sister Aliyah also discussed briefly the relevance of the same hadith Qudsi that I wrote about & I thought she did a better job at summarising the relevance of that hadith in the face of navigating adversities.
At the same time, this video provided some interesting insights concerning struggling with tests & tribulations — such as the issue of ‘perception management’ & how the ease is in the difficulty, like what Allah S.W.T has promised us in verses 5 & 6 of Surah Ash-Sharh (The Relief):
فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا – 94:5
For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا – 94:6
Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
Do watch the video if you have about 30 minutes to spare. May it benefit & provide you with some form of ease in the midst of navigating your adversities. Amin allahumma amin.
